Partners for PPE
California and Los Angeles County has procured millions of PPE and, through its partners, have streamlined a distribution system to make it available for free to eligible small businesses that sign up.
Together For Business
PPE Unite™ is a unique partnership between State, local, and private entities developed to distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) for small businesses to economic recovery while promoting general public health and safety. This large scale effort started with 5.5 million units of PPE, made available to California small businesses through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) in collaboration with the Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) during this critical time as they look to re-open their doors and bring employees back to work.
The PPE Unite™ distribution effort has been led by the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC) with support from Los Angeles County Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS), Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA), working in regional collaboration to support businesses and employees safety. The PPE Unite™ would not have been made possible without additional partnership from Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC), an institution proudly serving South LA business for over 30 years, and Logisticom Inc., whose private partnership is providing e-commerce solutions and logistics and expertise to drive the PPE Unite™ program forward.
